Ask Vetta

Chat with your CRM in plain language: ask questions, mention records with @, keep every chat in History, and use Vetta from ChatGPT or Claude.

Updated October 25, 2026 · 6 min read

Ask Vetta is the conversational way to work your CRM. Instead of building a report or clicking through tables and filters, you ask: "which deals have gone quiet this month?", "draft a follow-up for Sarah", "summarise my pipeline". Vetta answers with your actual data, because it reads your records, conversations and pipelines.

You'll find it in the top bar: click Ask Vetta and the chat opens in a panel beside the page you're on, so you can keep working while you ask.

Getting answers from your CRM by asking in plain words. Click Ask Vetta in the top bar and the panel opens beside your page. Start from a suggestion or type a question like the status of the last five opportunities. Steps show what it does, the answer returns as a table with links to records, follow-ups keep the context, and every chat is saved in History where you can rename, archive or delete it. It can make mistakes, so check drafts before sending.

You don't need to build a report to get an answer. Click Ask Vetta in the top bar, and the panel opens beside your page. Start from a suggestion, or type your question the way you'd ask a colleague, like what's the status of the last five opportunities. Ask Vetta looks through your CRM, and the steps show you what it's doing. The answer comes back as a table, and each deal links straight to its record. The chat names itself, so it's easy to find. Now ask a follow-up about one of them, and it keeps the context, with that deal's stage, amount and close date. Every chat is saved in History, grouped by date. Open any one to pick it back up, or use its menu to rename, archive or delete it. And since it can make mistakes, check its drafts before you send them.

Asking a question

  1. Click Ask Vetta in the top bar
  2. Start from one of the suggestions, or type your question the way you'd ask a colleague, for example "what's the status of the last five opportunities?"
  3. Ask Vetta looks through your CRM and shows the steps it is taking while it works
  4. The answer comes back in the chat, often as a table, and each record in it links straight to its page
  5. Ask a follow-up about one of the results. The chat keeps the context, so "and the second one?" works

The chat names itself from your first question, which makes it easy to find again later.

The chat workspace

Everything you ask is kept, so you can pick up where you left off:

  • Chat history opens from the history button in the panel header: every chat is saved under History, grouped by date, and each one has a menu to Rename, Archive or Delete it
  • New chat starts a fresh context when you switch topics
  • Answers are grounded in your workspace: people, companies, opportunities, pipelines, tasks, notes and synced conversations
  • Ask Vetta in the app can read your inbox conversations and summarise them, for example "summarise my last emails with Acme"

@Mention your records

Type @ to mention a specific person or company and pull that record directly into the conversation's context:

What's the status with @Acme Corp? Draft a check-in
message for @Sarah Chen referencing our last call.

Mentions remove ambiguity: the AI works with exactly the record you meant, not a guess by name.

⚠️

Ask Vetta can make mistakes. Read every draft it writes before you send it, and check a number against the record when it matters.

Use Vetta from ChatGPT or Claude

If your team already works in an AI assistant, Vetta can come to them. Vetta runs an MCP server (Model Context Protocol), so Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP clients can read and work with your workspace from their own chat.

Use Vetta from ChatGPT or Claude0:42

Connecting Vetta to ChatGPT or Claude so your team can ask about the workspace from their own assistant. In Settings, open Ask Vetta, and under MCP Server click Copy for the connection URL. In the assistant's settings add a custom connector named Vetta, paste the URL, choose OAuth and sign in, then click Authorize on the Vetta page. It is a one-time step. Then mention Vetta in any chat to get answers from your workspace.

If your team already works in an AI assistant, like ChatGPT or Claude, Vetta can come to them. In Settings, open Ask Vetta. Under MCP Server, click Copy to copy the connection URL. Then, in your assistant's settings, add a custom connector: name it Vetta, paste the URL, and choose OAuth to sign in. A Vetta page opens and asks for access to your workspace. Click Authorize. You only do this once. Now ask in any chat. Mention Vetta, and the assistant answers from your workspace: here, the deals stuck in negotiation, with their owners.

  1. Open Settings → Ask Vetta
  2. Under MCP Server, click Copy to copy the connection URL
  3. In your assistant's settings, add a custom connector: name it Vetta, paste the URL and choose OAuth to sign in
  4. A Vetta page opens and asks for access to your workspace. Click Authorize. You only do this once
  5. Ask in any chat. Mention Vetta, and the assistant answers from your workspace

If your client is set up with a configuration file instead of a connector screen, click Set up MCP: Vetta shows a ready-made configuration to paste, plus a version that uses an API key for clients that cannot open a browser to sign in. An OAuth connection reaches every workspace you belong to (ask the assistant to switch workspace by name), while an API key is tied to one workspace only.

Vetta beyond the chat

The same AI shows up where you already work:

  • On record pages: Vetta Brain, in the Vetta AI tab, summarises a person or opportunity and suggests what to do next
  • In the inbox: AI reply drafts a response from the conversation history for you to review and send
  • On WhatsApp: the Vetta WhatsApp Agent gives you the same capabilities from your phone, including creating and updating records by text or voice message

Teaching it your business

Ask Vetta gets sharper when you give it context to work with:

Writing good prompts

The same rules as the WhatsApp agent apply. Specific beats vague:

WeakStrong
"Help me with my pipeline""List opportunities in Negotiation with no activity in 14 days, sorted by amount"
"Write an email""Draft a short follow-up to @John Frank referencing the pricing discussion, soft CTA"

Start a new chat when you switch to an unrelated task, so old context doesn't influence the answer.

Common questions

In the top bar. Click Ask Vetta and the chat opens in a panel beside the page you're on. See Asking a question.

Does Ask Vetta use credits?

How do I make sure it uses the right record?

Type @ and mention the person or company. The AI then works with exactly that record, not a guess by name. See @Mention your records.

Can Ask Vetta read my inbox conversations?

Yes. In the app, Ask Vetta can read your inbox conversations and summarise them, using the conversations you can see. See The chat workspace.

Can I trust what it writes?

Ask Vetta can make mistakes. Read every draft before you send it, and check a number against the record when it matters. See @Mention your records.

Which AI assistants can connect to Vetta?

Any assistant that supports MCP, including Claude and ChatGPT. You add Vetta once as a connector and then ask about your workspace from any chat. See Use Vetta from ChatGPT or Claude.

How do I connect Vetta to Claude or ChatGPT?

Copy the connection URL from Settings → Ask Vetta under MCP Server, add it as a custom connector in your assistant with OAuth, and click Authorize on the Vetta page that opens. See Use Vetta from ChatGPT or Claude.

Can I get back to an old chat?

Yes. Every chat is saved in History, grouped by date. Open one to continue it, or rename, archive or delete it from its menu. See The chat workspace.

Why does an answer seem influenced by an earlier question?

The chat keeps its context. Start a new chat when you switch to an unrelated task. See Writing good prompts.

Key outcome

Ask Vetta closes the distance between a question and an action. Status checks, prioritisation and drafting that you would normally assemble from filters, record pages and exports, you can simply ask for: in the app, from your phone, or from the AI assistant your team already uses.
