Vetta integrates LinkedIn as a primary communication channel within its Unified Inbox, so sales teams manage LinkedIn conversations alongside email, WhatsApp and the CRM without switching platforms. Once your LinkedIn account is connected (see LinkedIn CRM integration), your message threads sync into the LinkedIn tab of the inbox, Sales Navigator conversations get their own tab, and you can reply, send InMails and track every touch on the contact's record.
LinkedIn messaging in the inbox
LinkedIn conversations appear as standard threads with full history and media. You can:
- Reply directly from Vetta: messages send through your connected LinkedIn account
- Use Templates and AI reply in the composer, like any other channel
- See at a glance whether the contact is tracked in your CRM, and add them with Add to people
Everything stays linked to the contact's record, so LinkedIn outreach shows up on the same timeline as email and WhatsApp.
Which conversations come in depends on the account's Sync setting. New LinkedIn accounts start on Selected, which only brings in conversations with people already in your CRM with their LinkedIn URL on the record. If a conversation is missing, see Why a conversation is missing.
Sales Navigator conversations
There is no separate Sales Navigator connection. If the LinkedIn account you connected has Sales Navigator, Vetta detects it, and conversations from your Sales Navigator inbox appear in a separate Sales Navigator tab of the Unified Inbox. You answer them like any other LinkedIn thread, and the same Sync rule applies.
Sending an InMail
An InMail reaches someone outside your network. It is available in the LinkedIn composer when the sending account has LinkedIn Premium or Sales Navigator.
- Open the conversation and click the InMail button next to the sender control. If the person isn't one of your connections yet, Vetta tells you the message will be sent as an InMail
- Add a Subject, or leave it blank to use your first line
- Check the credits tag (for example "3 credits left"): each InMail uses one credit, and messages to Open Profiles are free
- Write the message and click Send InMail
If the account has neither Premium nor Sales Navigator, the tag reads InMail not available. Vetta also warns you when the message is longer than an InMail allows. To go back to a regular message, close the InMail bar (Send as a regular message).
Contact context
When a LinkedIn conversation is linked to a person, Vetta shows the contact's CRM details alongside the thread, with quick actions to add a note or task, link a pipeline or opportunity, and update the deal stage without leaving the inbox.
Automated LinkedIn engagement
Beyond one-to-one messaging, LinkedIn actions can run automatically inside Sequences:
- View LinkedIn Profile: trigger a profile-visit notification before you message
- Send LinkedIn Connection Request: with an optional personalised note
- Send LinkedIn Message: to existing connections
- Delete LinkedIn Connection Request: withdraw pending invitations
Daily LinkedIn limits (messages, connection requests, profile visits) are set once in Global Sending Limits and apply across the whole workspace, not per sequence. Each limit counts per connected account, per action, over a rolling 24 hours, so more senders means more total volume. The recommended defaults are shown in the app, with a warning if you go above them.
Account safety
You connect LinkedIn by signing in to your account in the window that opens. This is not an official LinkedIn integration, so LinkedIn can restrict an account, and Vetta cannot promise it won't. The sending limits above lower the risk; staying at or below the recommended defaults is the safest setting.
The limits count only what Vetta sends. Connection requests and messages you send by hand on LinkedIn still count toward your account's activity in LinkedIn's eyes, so be mindful of manual outreach from the same account.
Contact synchronization with the Chrome extension
Vetta's Chrome extension syncs LinkedIn contacts into the CRM while you browse:
- Individual profiles: sync a person you're viewing to create their Person record (with company details captured from their profile)
- Company pages: create Company records directly from a LinkedIn company page
- Sales Navigator searches: tick profiles in your search results (or the whole page) and push them to Vetta, optionally straight to an agent, a pipeline or a sequence
Pushing is a manual action on the profiles you choose: Vetta does not continuously sync your Sales Navigator lists or saved searches. Combined with inbox syncing, this means both the people you talk to and the people you find while prospecting end up in the same database.
Common questions
Why aren't all my LinkedIn conversations in Vetta?
New LinkedIn accounts start on Selected, which only brings in conversations with people already in your CRM with their LinkedIn URL on the record. Add the person with that URL, or switch Sync to Everything. See LinkedIn messaging in the inbox.
Why does the composer say InMail not available?
The sending account has neither LinkedIn Premium nor Sales Navigator, which InMail needs. See Sending an InMail.
Does an InMail cost credits?
Each InMail uses one credit, and messages to Open Profiles are free. The credits tag in the composer shows what's left. See Sending an InMail.
Where do I set daily LinkedIn limits?
In Global Sending Limits, once for the whole workspace, not per sequence. Each limit counts per connected account, per action, over a rolling 24 hours. See Automated LinkedIn engagement.
Can LinkedIn restrict my account because of Vetta?
It can. This is not an official LinkedIn integration, and Vetta cannot promise it won't happen; staying at or below the recommended limits is the safest setting. See Account safety.
Do messages I send by hand on LinkedIn count toward Vetta's limits?
No, the limits count only what Vetta sends. LinkedIn still sees both, so be mindful of manual outreach from the same account. See Account safety.
Key outcome
LinkedIn now works like every other channel in Vetta. Conversations and Sales Navigator threads sit in the Unified Inbox, InMails go out from the composer, sequence steps run within your workspace limits, and every touch lands on the contact's record instead of staying in an external tool.
