Data enrichment

Fill missing emails, phones and LinkedIn data in bulk, inside sequences and in workflows, with the credit cost shown before every run.

Updated October 25, 2026 · 9 min read

Data enrichment fills the gaps in your CRM: missing email addresses, phone numbers, LinkedIn profiles, job details and AI-researched context. Instead of paying for a separate data tool and importing CSVs, you enrich records where they live: in bulk from a table, inside a sequence right before a step, or in a workflow.

Enrichment is built in and works like a waterfall: Vetta asks several data providers in turn and moves on to the next one when a source has no answer, so a lookup finds more than any single source would. You pay in credits, and the cost is always shown before you run.

What enrichment can find

Contact information

  • Find email address (and reverse email lookup)
  • Find mobile phone / direct landline (and reverse phone lookup)
  • Find LinkedIn URL (plus X/Twitter, GitHub)

LinkedIn intelligence

  • Person profile details: seniority, department, location
  • Work history
  • Recent posts (person and company), reactions and comments
  • Company LinkedIn profile
  • Job search signals

AI research

  • Summarize a profile
  • Personalized opener / personal outreach message, generated per contact
  • Find people via AI research: answer questions like "Who is the CEO of this company and what is their LinkedIn URL?", with optional Roles to prioritize so Vetta tries the roles you care about first

Running enrichment in bulk

  1. In a table view, tick the people (or companies) you want and click Enrich in the bar at the bottom. The Enrich & clean panel opens
  2. Pick the enrichment options you want. They are grouped by use case (Find emails, Find phone numbers, Find social profiles, Enrich people, Enrich companies and Use AI), and each option shows what it costs per person
  1. Vetta shows the credit cost before you run: the Total for everyone you selected and your Balance after
  1. Click Enrich. It runs in the background, working through each record in turn, and you can keep using Vetta meanwhile
  2. When it's done, click Verify & Close, and the new data is on the records
Find emails in bulk1:07

Finding missing emails for a group of people. Tick the people and click Enrich in the bar at the bottom. Enrich and clean groups options by use case: emails, phone numbers, people and company details, and social profiles, each with a per-person cost. Tick Find email; Overwrite existing data stays off so people with an email cost nothing. The right side shows total credits and balance. Click Enrich, wait for it to run in the background, then Verify and Close.

You've got a list of names and no way to reach them. Tick the people you want, and click Enrich in the bar at the bottom. Enrich and clean sorts everything it can find by use case: emails, phone numbers, people and company details, and social profiles. Each option shows what it costs per person. Tick Find email. Overwrite existing data stays off, so it only fills emails that are empty, and people who already have one cost nothing. On the right, you see the total, two credits times three people, and your balance after. Click Enrich, and it runs in the background, searching each person in turn. As the emails come back, each one shows where it was found. When it's done, click Verify and Close, and the emails are on the records. Every Monday, Alex asks Claude which new leads have no email. Claude finds 9 of 30 and saves a note. Claude, ChatGPT or any assistant you connect to Vetta works on your real workspace, so run this weekly, then give it a bigger job. In Vetta, tick the 9, click Enrich, check the credits.

Three behaviours keep costs down:

  • Skip-if-present: Overwrite existing data is off by default, so options are skipped for records that already have the data and credits are only spent where enrichment is actually needed. Turn it on per option if you want to refresh existing data (that does use credits).
  • Skip if already attempted: on options that offer it, a record is skipped when an earlier run already found the data or already came back "not found", so you don't pay twice for the same answer. It still re-runs when the previous attempt failed or was skipped.
  • Automatic ordering: Vetta decides the order per record based on what it already has: it finds the LinkedIn URL first, then runs the email, phone and profile lookups that depend on it.

Custom AI prompts

Beyond the standard options, Use AI lets you run a Custom prompt:

  1. Write a prompt describing the voice, the angle, what to reference and how to fill each output field
  2. Under AI will read, pick what the AI uses as input, such as the company profile, notes, AI meeting notes, recent posts or work history
  3. Pick which text fields it writes into
  4. Save it to Saved prompts and reuse it in later runs

This is how teams generate research summaries, qualification notes or personalisation snippets at scale. The output lands directly in fields that sequence variables can use.

Enrichment inside sequences

A sequence can find missing details right before it needs them, so you don't have to enrich a list before you launch it:

  • Auto-enrich before a step: on an email step, Enrich if it doesn't exist finds the lead's work email before that email is sent, when the record has none. LinkedIn steps can do the same for a missing LinkedIn profile. Leads that already have the address or URL cost nothing.
  • When nothing is found: the step is skipped or fails with an error you can retry later, depending on the step's skip toggle. Skipping moves the lead past those steps; failing keeps them at the step so you can fix the record and retry. To route those leads down a different path instead, see Designing flow with conditions.
  • Enrichment for personalisation: in the sequence settings, Enrich leads in this sequence fetches extra details the AI uses to write each message, such as work history and recent posts. It runs once per lead, right before their first message is written, and a lookup that finds nothing doesn't stop the lead.

Enrichment in workflows

  • Enrich data action: add it from the Enrichment group, choose People, set the record to the person from the trigger and pick what to look for. Each pick becomes a card with its credits per record, and the same Overwrite existing data and Skip if already attempted switches apply. See Setting workflow actions.
  • Enrichment trigger: starts a workflow from the outcome of an enrichment: Found, Not found, Already present or Already attempted. The classic pattern: when enrichment finds an email, add the contact to a sequence (examples).
  • Notifications: enrichment completion shows up in your notifications.
Enrich data in a workflow1:01

Filling in missing data on a record while a workflow runs. Add Enrich data from the Enrichment group, choose People, set the record to the person from the trigger, then pick what to look for; each pick is a card with its credits per record, such as two for Find email and one for Basic details. Overwrite existing data stays off, so filled fields cost nothing, and Skip if already attempted avoids repeat charges. Use it so every new contact is enriched on arrival.

Transcript

Enrich data fills in what's missing on a record while the workflow runs. Add it from the Enrichment group, choose People, and set the record to the person from the trigger. Then pick what to look for. Each pick becomes a card with what it does and its credits per record: two for Find email, one for Basic details. Overwrite existing data stays off, so anything already filled is skipped and costs nothing. Options like Basic details add Skip if already attempted: if an earlier run already found the data, or found nothing, it won't run or charge again. Every new contact is enriched the moment they land. Each new source, Alex asks Claude for an Enrich step. Claude adds Find email, pricing 38 people at 76 credits. Claude, ChatGPT or any assistant you connect to Vetta works on your real workspace, so start small, then give it a bigger job each week. In Vetta, check the credits, then activate it yourself.

Using Apollo, ZoomInfo, Clay or another provider

There is no native Apollo, ZoomInfo or Clay connector. If you already pay for one of them, or for any data provider with an API, connect it through a workflow:

  1. Create a workflow with a manual trigger on People
  2. Add an HTTP Request step with the provider's API URL, your API key for that provider in a header, and the person's details in the request
  3. Add an Update Record step that writes the provider's answer into the person's fields
  4. In the People table, select the people to enrich and trigger the workflow

See Example workflow automations for more recipes built the same way.

Credits

Enrichment runs on your workspace's credit balance:

  • Your plan includes a monthly credit allowance; you can buy one-time top-ups in credit bundles (secure checkout via Stripe). See Registration and plan
  • Top-up credits never expire
  • The credit cost is always shown before a run, and skip-if-present means you never pay for data you already have

What each option costs, per record:

  • Verified email: 2 credits. Vetta finds the address in public databases, then verifies it
  • Phone number: 18 credits, found and verified the same way
  • LinkedIn enrichment: 0.5 to 2 credits
  • AI actions with a small to medium context, such as writing a message or a workflow AI step: 0.5 to 3 credits
  • AI actions with a large context, web search or reasoning: 4 to 8 credits
ℹ️

At zero credits nothing is lost, but the actions that need credits can't happen: enrichment stops, and sequence sends that need an AI-written message or an email lookup are held back, so running out works like a sending limit. They resume as soon as you buy more credits, or when your monthly credits arrive. Finding leads with Lead Scout does not use credits, so scouting keeps going.

Common questions

What do credits pay for?

Enrichment lookups, AI-written messages and reply drafts, and each one shows its cost before it runs. Finding leads with Lead Scout does not use credits. See Credits.

Will I be charged again for data a record already has?

No. Overwrite existing data is off by default, so options are skipped for records that already have the data, and Skip if already attempted means you don't pay twice when an earlier run already came back "not found". See Running enrichment in bulk.

What happens when I run out of credits?

Nothing is lost, but enrichment and the sends that need an AI-written message or an email lookup can't happen until you have credits again. They resume as soon as you buy more, or when your monthly credits arrive, and scouting keeps going. See Credits.

Do top-up credits expire?

No, top-up credits never expire. Your plan also includes a monthly allowance. See Credits.

Can a sequence find an email right before it sends?

Yes. Turn on Enrich if it doesn't exist on the email step, and Vetta looks up the work email before that step, only for leads who don't have one. See Enrichment inside sequences.

What happens if enrichment finds nothing before a step?

The step is skipped or fails with an error you can retry later, depending on the step's skip toggle. To route those leads elsewhere instead, put a condition in front of the step. See Enrichment inside sequences.

Can I use my own data provider?

There is no native connector, but any provider with an API can be connected through a workflow with an HTTP Request step and an Update Record step. See Using another provider.

Where do I see what a run will cost before it starts?

In the Enrich & clean panel: each option shows its price per person, and the Total and Balance after appear before you click Enrich. See Running enrichment in bulk.

How many credits does each enrichment option cost?

A verified email costs 2 credits, a phone number 18 credits and LinkedIn enrichment 0.5 to 2 credits per record. AI actions cost 0.5 to 3 credits, or 4 to 8 when they use a large context, web search or reasoning. See Credits.

Key outcome

Enrichment turns a sparse contact list into a workable one (reachable emails, phones, LinkedIn context, AI-written research) without leaving Vetta. Run it in bulk, let sequences fill gaps right before a step, or put it in a workflow, and you always see what it costs before it runs.
